Coaching with Scenario Mandarin. “What we actually do together”
Coaching is one‑to‑one online and built around your specific situations. We begin by talking about where you want to use Mandarin—work meetings, travel plans, family visits, or social events. From there, we choose a first scene and build language and culture around it, then extend to related scenes over time.
What happens in sessions
- Conversation and practice around your chosen scene.
- Small “swap tools” so you can change people, time, and details without starting from scratch.
- Culture notes: when to say something, when to stay quiet, what feels natural or polite in context.
- Light reading or character work where it supports your goals (e.g., names, signs, menus).
Examples of coaching themes
- Workplace lunches and informal conversations with colleagues and partners.
- Extended family gatherings and introductions on your spouse’s side.
- Travel arrival and simple conversations with hosts or relatives.
- Mahjong or social evenings with Chinese‑speaking friends.
How it works in practice
Coaching is offered in ongoing blocks (for example, weekly sessions) with room to adjust scenes and pacing as we see how you respond. We talk about your needs, availability, and budget in a first conversation rather than listing everything on this page. Coaching sessions are held online via Zoom, so you can join from wherever you are.
If you’re curious whether this fits you, the best next step is a short conversation about your situations and goals.
