I’ve worked in cross‑cultural communication for over 30 years in business, education, and cultural exchanges, and managed a Mandarin program at a Canadian university for the last decade. I created Scenario Mandarin to help adults use Mandarin in real conversations, where culture and etiquette matter as much as vocabulary and grammar.
How I think about learning
We don’t start from the textbook. We start from the parts of your life where Mandarin actually matters: relationships, family and friends, travel, business. You choose specific scenes and we co‑build the language and culture for those scenes. Grammar and characters appear inside these scenes as tools, not as separate chapters.
What this is and is not
-Not exam‑prep or school‑style grammar drills.
-Focused on “what and how to say” and more importantly “when and why to say it” in real situations.
